Lewes Borough Bonfire Society are pleased to be able to offer off-road, secure parking just outside the Sussex police cordon, situated at Hambridge Farm, Offham, This allows people visiting our firesite to arrive after the 4pm Lewes Road closures are in place and leave before they reopen at 1.00am in the morning.
We strongly advise the use of pocket torch / phone torch along the pathway from Car Park to Firesite as some of this route is not street lit.
Location LBBS parking is located on the A275 just north of the B2116 Plumpton Road junction, Sat Nav Hambridge Farm A275 Offham. BN7 3QE it is just an easy walk into Lewes or to & from the LBBS fire site, Security marshals will be on site with parking access from 12.00pm the site will close at 1.00am The LBBS fire site is a short 1,95km (20 minutes) walk up Neville Road, the centre of Lewes is a little further
Arrival & Departure routes. Arrival can be from any direction prior to the 4.00pm Lewes road closures, Prior to the road closures turn north at Lewes Prison Crossroads. After this time access through Lewes is not possible so coming from the west, Brighton direction, it must be via Ditchling From the east, Eastbourne direction then from Ringmer cut through Barcombe, From the North Chailey the A275 south, Leaving at any time before the lifting of the police road blocks is the reverse of above
Weather concerns. Parking is on a firm grass surface and no difficulties are normally experienced with movement on this surface. If, however the day is wet or heavy rain is forecast, we request towing eyes are fitted/available before arrival to ensure ease of leaving site, should conditions change unexpectedly.

Security The site is fully fenced and flood lit with safe entry/exit from the main road. Please obey the instructions of the security marshals at all times.

Helpful Information. Visiting Lewes bonfire celebrations invariably involves a fair amount of walking and also periods where little seems to be happening in the Town. We recommend that visitors remain in the upper half of the town to avoid the inevitable crowds that make progress through the lower part, both for bonfire societies and spectators very difficult. Warm/waterproof clothing and stout footwear is recommended.
Safety. Visitors to Lewes Bonfire event. Please refrain from picking up any burning or smouldering torches, or pyrotechnic devices or spent flares. Should you see any item of concern, alert either a police officer or a Bonfire society marshal. Keep well back from our bonfire as it can, when ignited increase the radiating temperature swiftly. Please obey the instructions of all marshals, your safety & enjoyment of our evening matter to us.
